Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Reci mobile application and website (the “Service”) operated by Reci NYC, LLC (“Reci,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

2. Your account

You access the Service by signing in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining access to the Apple ID associated with your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering. You may not transfer your account to anyone else. Notify us immediately at hello@joinreci.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. The Service

Reci is a platform that enables users to share and discover service-provider recommendations (such as salons and beauty professionals) within their personal networks.

The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, and will notify you in advance of any such changes.

4. User content

You may submit recommendations, reviews, and other content through the Service (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant Reci a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it in connection with operating the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to submit content that is false, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise unlawful.

Some of your User Content, including your display name, profile photo, and recommendations, is visible to other users, in particular the people in your network. Do not submit content you wish to keep private.

5. Referral rewards

Reci facilitates referral rewards between users and participating businesses. Rewards are offered at the sole discretion of the participating business and are subject to each business's own terms and availability. Reci does not guarantee the availability, value, or redemption of any reward. Reci is not a party to any transaction between you and a participating business.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on Sign in with Apple for authentication; your use of it is also subject to Apple's terms. The Service uses Google Maps Platform for location and business-search functionality, subject to Google's Terms of Service. We also rely on third-party providers for push notifications, image hosting, and infrastructure. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service integrated into the platform.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Reci does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Reci makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any service provider listed on the platform.

8. Limitation of liability

Reci is a platform connecting users with service providers and does not itself provide beauty, wellness, or other professional services. Reci is not responsible for the quality of services rendered by any provider recommended or discovered through the platform, nor for any disputes arising between users and service providers.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reci's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed $100 USD.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) post false, misleading, or fraudulent content; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (d) scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in an automated manner; or (e) interfere with the operation of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York, New York.
